Streak Camera - Photocathode Gating

Optronis integrated a photocathode gating into its universal streak cameras based on the SC-10 main unit.

This gating technique allows effective suppression of undesired signals with 10e6 extinction ratio. The transition from ON to OFF state and vice versa is completed within less than 1 µs. Standard photocathode gating is integrated into main units ordered with the /PG option. The newly introduced /PT option additionally allows to completely disable the gating to maintain full temporal resolution of 2 ps. Photocathode gating is typically used for Transient Absorption Measurement (TAM) and Laser Doppler Interferometrie (LDI) where light sources with continuous emission are combined with the streak camera system.
