High Speed Cameras

Description/Overview

Optronis is a german manufacturer of premium High-Speed cameras for comprehensive analysis of high-speed events that are faster than the human eye.

Typical application area of the CR series reside in industrial fields, used for fault analysis, process optimization, prophylactic maintenance and in endoscopy and microscopy. Further applications are found in science and research.

High-Speed cameras are optimized for the acquisition of fast moving objects and offer a multiple of frame rates than common video cameras. The cameras offer at the same time a multiple of sensor resolution for complete object analysis and acquisition of object details.

Optronis high speed cameras acquire, depending on the camera model, up to 4 Million image pixels per image at a frame rate of 500 frames per second (fps).

This outstanding performance exceeds data rates and frame rates of common video technique by factors.

Aside from the outstanding performance values, CR cameras are optimized for ease of use and handling. Image Data are transferred first to the camera video memory (ring memory) and can be analysed by the connected PC or notebook before the data are stored to the harddisk of the PC. An AVI export of the image sequence can then be performed by the software package.

User Software - TimeBench

Optronis offer the new developed TimeBench software for image acquisition, fault detection and fault analysis. TimeBench functions allow to completely parametrize the high-speed cameras, to acquire images and sequences, to analyse the video sequence and to store and manage the video data. Analysis results, comments and references can be documented in the high speed images. TimeBench uses state-of-the-art functions to synchronously operate several CR cameras in a network. TimeBench is supplied together with the CR cameras.

The key features of TimeBench are:

  • Image trigger for automatic recording
  • Logo and text implementation
  • Free adjustable Pre- and Posttrigger
  • Export of AVI video files
  • Distance, velocity and frequency measurements
  • Navigation slidebar
  • Realtime display
  • Synchronous multi-camera operation
